Week 24: TRANSFERS!!

So last night was transfer calls! It turns out that I am closing another Area! Sister Lundin is going to the small town of Brockville and I will be going to Brampton! (Where the STL's, AP's and mission president are)

For now Question Time

1.  Update on investigators, reactivation, new member discussions?

Makida-- is out of town for this week!

 2.  What has your mission president been doing to inspire the mission?
What do you love about your mission president?
So the majority of the focus is on Member Work! It has really been inspired! We get to know the members more, we serve them more, they in turn help us teach and feed us and give us referrals! It is amazing to see how actually working directly with members really affects missionary work for the better!
President Clayton is completely and utterly inspired! He is so loving and cares about every single missionary and knows them all by name!

 3.  When was the last time you saw an answer to prayer?
Last night before transfer calls we said a prayer because we were kinda freaking out a little and it was for comfort and peace for what ever happened, and we have been feeling it ever since.

 4.  What has been your favorite Pday activity so far?  What are you
doing for PDay today? How and where do you do laundry?  Have you
washed your sheets lately?

 6.  Who has been your favorite person you contacted this week?
Ahh man! That is so hard! There was one that came up and asked if I was a cop and then told me everything that he has done and everything he is worried about! Then there was one who told me he would come to church and bring friends he even asked for extra cards he could hand out! Then the lady who was falling asleep while we were talking on the subway!

Christmas 2014

At the same party about 5 minutes before they wanted us to they asked us to perform so we sang the song from Lion King that goes like " in the jungle the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight." Christmas 2014

Guy on Subway wants to know why their are so Happy?

Christmas was a bit different this year with both Riley and Toni gone.   We were able to talk to Sister Riley earlier today and then Sister Toni this afternoon.   She was going to call at 300 and when it kept getting later and later, not sure she was going to call.    Her friend Christina and Jacoy were able to talk with her also.

Making faces

She finally called and I thought I had my emotions under control after talking with Riley, but it was a second after hearing her voice, I lost it again.   It was bitter sweet to be able to hear and see her face at the same time.

I loved this Christmas present and was so excited to spend even just an hour with her.

The hardest part was saying goodbye again.   I wouldn't want either of them any other place-the greatest gift they can give is to bring others unto Christ.

Week 23: Donny Osmond, Christmas Zone Conference, Visiting members

Ok Question time:

1.  Updates on Investigators or reactivation efforts?
Jeanette-- Now officially a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! AHHHH!!! So exciting! She literally could not wipe the smile off her face! She is so happy! She is going down to Maryland for the next 2 weeks! And she is wait for it,........ Going to the temple!!! AHHH!! I love her!!

So this week was our crunch week! So we wrote down all of the members on our side of the ward! in which there was 155 families and of which 30 of those are active and we had to visit the rest! We only have 40ish families left to visit before the end of this year! But we also need to help the Elders on the other side of the ward because They have about 600 members on their side of the boundaries and like 120 of those are decently active and we have to go visit the rest! On the bright side we are updating the ward list like crazy! but sad thing is most of the numbers don't work and the addresses are wrong so we have officially lost track of so many people!

So it turns out Donny Osmond used to live in the Don Valley ward! So everytime he comes to town he visits!

 2.  Favorite part of this holiday season?
Meeting so many people, who can't be mean because it is CHRISTMAS!! ha ha ha! I really like being apart of so many different traditions! And spending time with members! I love listening to the story of Jesus Christ! And learning more and more about him! He is the Ultimate Gift!

Weird I never sing in front of people by myself and we mixed the children's hymns He sent his son and away in a manger! Oh man! I wanted to cry! But don't worry I didn't! ;) The spirit was so strong!!!

 4.  I felt the spirit so strong this week when.....
At Zone conference^^ and When Jeanette was Confirmed! Oh man! I can just say my heart is full!

testimony, how you are doing, etc, whatever you wants --free form.
This week! Has been really interesting! I have had a rollercoaster of a time! I know I am here in Toronto, Canada for a reason! I may not know all the reasons now! But hopefully I can learn more while I am here! I love every single one of you! You are all my family! And one thing I have learned about family is we all love each other, we all care for each other, we serve each other, help each other, make each other laugh, and be there when they cry or are having a hard time! Find those people in your life that mean the most to you and serve them with all your heart, might, mind, and strength. even if it is just a laugh or spending time with them!

Sister Warburton (from Deweyville, Utah and went to USU and went to Bear River) and I played soccer with the Elders and Less Actives and Recent Converts and Investigators! She is Awesome!

 5.  If I could talk face to face with the Savior, I would ask Him...
If I could have a radar that tells me who are the people who are ready to hear the gospel right now! Those ones who he has prepared! And how I could better this area that he has assigned me too!

 6. I am happiest when..
I am teaching people about the true gospel of Jesus Christ!

 8.  Something I learned about myself this week was...

to say more prayers of gratitude!

 10.  My testimony of the Book of Mormon is...
That it is the Truest book on the earth today! It is one that will fill you with happiness and peace! It is one that can relate to everyone for any situation! It is so amazing!

 4.  Funniest story (these are my favorite, so spare no details)
So we were teaching ESL on Tuesday and we were teaching holidays with an emphasis on Halloween! So we had this Bright Pink, Fuzzy PJ thing in our closet in our apartment so we brought it! and we had one of the newest elder, Elder Smith put it on! Oh my goodness We laughed so hard because he looked like a very pink Easter bunny!

 6. Describe a normal day for a sister serving in Don Valley?
Get up, exercise a lot, get ready, eat breakfast, studies, meet with Less Actives, or Formers, or investigators, and if we aren't doing any of that we are tracting and talking to as many people as possible.

 7. What have you learned the most from Sister Lundin?
The most? I have learned so much from her! I love hearing what she has to say always! I have learned that we can't do a lot of service here but one service we can do is to make someone smile, which is what she makes me do all the time!

Sister Lundin and Sister Stuart just before going into the MTC, who knew they would end up companions so soon?

 8.  What was your favorite service moment this week?
Making the Elders Adobo! (thanks Sister Duran)

 9. How has your testimony grown since getting out in the field?
Oh my Goodness! Where do I start??? My testimony has grown through the trials I face, I can now say honestly I love trials! Weird huh? I have found out that a mission doesn't change you the Atonement does. And it is used in many ways everyday!

 5. I felt the Spirit the most...
Teaching the Atonement to our investigators! Sharing a testimony of how the atonement works and how they have felt his love.

 6.  After meeting with President Clayton last week, I learned this from him...
Less Actives really open new doors to new people even if they do not live there anymore!

Sister Lundin and I are still laughing A LOT! We are continually learning from each other! The rest of the district is good Elder Johnson is from Alberta. He is a missionary who was hit by a car almost 2 years ago on this same mission! and came back to finish his mission. He is serving now in the same area he was hit by a car in! He is so humble and so funny. His companion Elder Smith from Tremonton. This is his first Transfer! He is on fire! He is sooooo funny! He just barely turned 18!
The Farsi Elders: Elder Gunnell is our District Leader! He is from Idaho. He just barely turned 19 and has been out for just over a year! He is sooo funny! He is super spiritual as well! He is soooo strange! He loves to act and sing and he is sooo in love with BYU. Elder call is 26 he has been out for almost 3 months! He is from Salt Lake! He is definitely one of my favorite people! Oh and He looks like superman no joke!!! No seriously I am not kidding! He is such a great guy and is funny as well! He also apparently traveled the world doing humanitarian work and playing soccer! He is absolutely amazing! I can't even comprehend it! Then they just got in a trio with Elder Whitney because his companion just went home. He is going home in March. He is like an old man trapped inside a 19 year body! But he is funny!

 8. Now that you are in a new area--what is your favorite or most
successful method of contacting new investigators?

 9. STRONGEST testimony-strengthening experience of the week..
Having skills and interviews with the mission president this week! Oh and Stake Conference was SOO good! I loved it! It is everything we all needed to hear! (members, nonmembers, missionaries, less actives....)

 10. The "Most Unexpected Moment" I had this week was...
Well one time when Sister Lundin and I were making faces at each other across the Subway this guy was looking at her and she was just laughing and smiling! So he asked her "why in the world she was so happy." She walked up to him and told him that she got to tell a girl about Jesus Christ and that she wants to come closer to him! And He said "Ya but Why are you so happy!" She said "Well I love Jesus Christ!" The Subway pings "Bayview, Bayview Station!" I walk up and give him our card and he says "what is this? I don't want this, I want your number!" I said "Well our number is on there and we have church on Sunday at ten at this address!" He said "Ok Sweet!"
Later that night He texts us his facebook name and then texts us "oh ok cool se you later hun good nigh sweet dreams" Wait What??? AHHHH no good no good! Not contacted since!

When you speak Farsi to Persian guys most of them ask you for your number!

      Uneventful, tiring, and relaxing!

Sister Lundin sent me a picture of how they relax at the end of a hard day
Bowl of Ice Cream and trying not to fall asleep on the couch at the end of the day

Sunny a member in the ward sent me this quick clip on Wednesday 22nd of October.  I so needed to hear this and see this as we had just taken Riley to the MTC.  I feel so blessed to have two amazing daughters who are willing to serve the Lord and others.
